SETAC in Maastricht 17-22 May 2026
IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute attended the SETAC conference in Maastricht on 17-22 May. The team from IVL shared important progress on the ProScale method developed with support from the ProScale consortium partners.
IVL have extended the ProScale method to cover the use phase with the Service Life module (ProScale-SL) and indirect exposure via the environment (ProScale-IE) as well as updated the worker’s and environmental modules (ProScale-W and ProScale-E) to include the new CLP hazard classes and a few more improvements.
These developments will also be integrated into the ProScale webtool, which is currently being updated and is planned for launch in October 2026

This Mistra SafeChem webinar aired on 26 of March explored how chemical sustainability can be assessed within a Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) context, with a focus on recent developments in the ProScale tool and how hazard and exposure data can be integrated into life cycle assessment (LCA).
