Support with the EU taxonomy related to pollution prevention

The EU Taxonomy Regulation serves to identify and evaluate environmentally sustainable investments. To qualify as environmentally sustainable, an economic activity must make a substantial contribution to one or more of the six environmental objectives while not causing significant harm to any other environmental objective. The regulation includes technical screening criteria that specify what comprises a substantial contribution and what constitutes significant harm. The latter referred to as DNSH criteria (Do No Significant Harm).

With respect to the environmental objective of Pollution prevention and control, the DNSH criteria are specified in Annex C of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/2139, amended by Delegated Regulation (EU) 2023/2485. Substances referenced in Annex C, point f, and the subsequent point may only be used when no other suitable alternative substances or technologies are available on the market.

Our experts at IVL support in clarifying the application of the DNSH criteria related to this environmental objective. We support larger companies in reporting their activities, as well as smaller companies in the collection of necessary information, enabling them to effectively report for their larger clients.
